Performance Evidence
Evidence is required to be collected that demonstrates a candidate’s competency in this unit. Evidence must be relevant to the roles within this sector’s work operations and satisfy all of the requirements of the performance criteria of this unit and include evidence that the candidate:
locates and applies applicable documentation, policies and proceduresimplements the requirements, procedures and techniques for the safe, effective and efficient completion of overseeing drilling operations including:identifying, addressing and reporting potential hazards and riskscontrolling identified hazards carrying out emergency response identifying, addressing and reporting environmental issuespreparing written records and reports obtaining and checking correct equipment and toolsensuring pressure testing of all BOP equipment is carried outensuring rig up to drill out is carried outmonitoring drill out safety processes and test gauge leak offcomplete and abandon wellrectifying and/or reporting faults and malfunctionsworks effectively with others to plan, prepare and oversee drilling operations that meets all of the required outcomes including:preparing for and organising work activities to meet all task requirementscomplying with written and verbal reporting requirements and procedurescommunicating clearly and concisely with others to receive and clarify work instructionsdemonstrates completion of the overseeing drilling operations that safely, effectively and efficiently meets all of the required outcomes on more than one (1) occasion including:obtaining, checking and providing correct equipment and toolsassigning crews to specific jobs implementing performance measures to monitor operationscarrying out appropriate inspectionsarranging servicing, repairing and/or returning equipmentcarry out numerical calculations including:addition, subtraction, multiplication, divisionrelate normal pressure to temperatureusing calculator if requiredusing estimated skills basic geometry use of metric and imperials and conversion between the twocalculations relating to pressure density, volume, height, velocity, length, weightmeasurements
